March 18, 2020 Los Angeles, CA  COVID-19 Update:

In light of the heightened security measures implemented in the surrounding Los Angeles Counties, the F.T.E. asks that all individuals engaged in any equine activities, trainers, riders, grooms, and personnel to please be aware and respectful of these regulations recently announced by executive order.

This includes limiting incoming foot traffic to barns to horse owners and essential personnel only. If you do not board a horse in these facilities, you are asked to stay home.  Rest assured, riding lessons and all other activities will resume once the situation is stabilized.

These facilities are doing everything they can to ensure the safety and welfare of our community members and their priority is to observe and implement these temporary guidelines to prevent further spread of the COVID-19 virus.

In a statement made by the USEF on 3/18/20, we encourage everyone to practice Social Distancing :  "Managing your risk of exposure to the Coronavirus is essential to maintaining good health.  At this time, it is appropriate to be cognizant of proper hygiene and incorporating common sense actions into your everyday activities in order to prevent the spread of this virus.  Practices such as regularly washing your hands with soap and water or an alcohol based hand sanitizer; practicing good sneeze and cough hygiene; avoiding touching your mouth, nose and eyes with unwashed hands; avoiding close contact with people who are sick; and disinfecting and cleaning often touched objects and surfaces can help reduce your risk of exposure."

This is a time when we all can collectively be part of the solution and not add to the problem, and while it poses a great inconvenience to many, the good that will come out of these temporary inconveniences outweigh the ramifications of one misstep.

Thank you for your continued support as we get through this unfortunate circumstance together.  Stay healthy, stay home.
